Scott Becker, CFA |
Finding Opportunity and Managing Volatility in the Emerging Markets Emerging economies offer exciting growth opportunities as they provide new investment growth areas while offering diversification benefits. How to best access this growth is a question investors continually reassess. The potential of emerging markets investments is generally accompanied by volatility and can present a number of unique challenges and risks. Navigating this risk-reward landscape requires a disciplined investment process that fully assesses and manages both of these important aspects. Scott Becker, Senior Vice President & Senior Portfolio Specialist will articulate how to gain exposure to growth and the flexibility to managing risk at both the portfolio and security levels. At Calamos, our investment process looks to identify companies that offer the best opportunities for participating in emerging markets growth, regardless of the company headquarter location. |

The case for Latin American Equities Even though there are some global concerns such as the Eurozone crisis and the US Fiscal crisis, we believe it is important to recognize that Latin American Equities, and EM Fundamentals remain strong. Emerging markets growth is and has historically been stronger than developed markets growth. |

‘The rise of emerging markets is a fundamental change' (Nouriel Roubini) How sustainable are the growth trends in emerging markets and what are the implications for investors? Kathryn Langridge, who launched Jupiter's Global Emerging Markets Fund in November 2010, will discuss the secular drivers of growth and how they influence asset allocation and stock selection in a global emerging markets portfolio.

James Syme |
Crisis = danger + opportunity James Syme will outline the opportunities that exist within Global Emerging Markets particularly focussing on markets where domestic demand is strong and sustainable. China, India, ASEAN and part of Africa where there is increasing demand for discretionary staples and luxury goods. He will also cover the emergence of Emerging Market brands particularly in Korea and Taiwan and growing Emerging Markets' energy demands. This will also be an opportunity to raise the profile of the fund with investors with James Syme and Paul Wimborne having recently joined from Barings Asset Management. |
